GE presents GE-636, a very stable, reliable and optically isolated Compact D.C. Drive, which can be used up to 2 HP D.C. motor. This can accept different type of inputs like Start, Stop, Inch, 0-5 V/ 0-10 V / 4-20 mA as reference. The compact thyristor controller D.C. Drive can work with permanent magnet DC motors. The speed of a DC motor is directly proportional to the armature voltage. To vary the speed of a PMDC motor the armature voltage has to be varied from zero to the rated voltage of the armature.
